Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Hidden In Pieces Tour in San Francisco at Davies Symphony Hall
Awe man, how do I start!? Two years ago I snapped a few photos of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs from the crowd when they passed through Seattle and Berkeley, and thought to myself “this is for me!” The love of music and event photography with charismatic subjects and dynamic lighting checks all the boxes of what I love to capture, and I spent the following two years getting experience with a goal to be able to actually shot FOR my dream team of bands:
Yeah Yeah Yeahs (this would also include Karen O as a solo artist)
Garbage
Goldfrapp
Lana Del Rey
Lady Gaga
I know a few are a long shot, but am so stoked that the band that started this journey was also the first one I was able to shoot for, approved by them directly. (I’ve done other shows, but it was through contacts that I knew and didn’t have the pressure of actually needing to deliver, lol!) The shows at Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco were an amazing experience with a photo pass in hand, having more of my images end up on their social pages than their hired photographer. Which then led to me being asked to shoot their final show in New York two weeks later! But that’s a later post, with a write up from my husband who also attended. This blog post is dedicated to the images that got me the job. x
