InterContinental the Clement Monterey Wedding for Marissa + Daniel
For their September wedding, Marissa + Dan chose an iconic hotel wedding venue located on historic Cannery Row along the picturesque shores of Monterey Bay, the InterContinental The Clement Monterey.
Though at the end of another hot summer, Monterey is an ideal location for California weddings due to the cool breeze of the ocean while most of the state is still in the middle of heat waves further inland. With the hotel being as beautiful as it is organically, the couple opted for minimalist decor with hints of wildflowers to accent their tables and jewel toned displays to frame the front of the aisle, then their sweetheart table. Complimenting the bright florals, I really loved the colors the bridal party wore to bring a full ocean pallet of light blues and sea greens to compliment the groomsmen kaki sand color suits… it was almost like bringing the colors or the coast to the party.
The inspiration for the imagery was all Marissa, she definitely had a vision how she wanted her photos to look, and luckily my editorial style of photography already had a good base for the direction I wanted to take it. Leaning more towards a moody romantic story, I even wanted the photos in bright sun to seem “dark”. But at the end of the day, the coverage still has a finish I am proud to add to my portfolio, hence the blog post, lol!
